The introduction of the new promotional campaign for the Catholic Development Fund of Wellington (CDF) has attracted a lot of positive attention. In February 2009 the CDF General Manager Ashley Hayes told Wel-com editor, Cecily McNeill, that one of the campaign’s advertisements was a ‘slightly cheeky step away from past promotions. 'One of the ads has the theme, ‘Jesus Invests’ which we think will catch peoples’ attention,’ Ashley says. ‘This humorous approach will be a common element with many of our ads’.
The campaign aimed to boost the level of deposits which parishioners invest with the CDF. ‘The more money invested with us the greater will be the CDF’s annual operating surplus,’ Ashley said. The Archdiocese of Wellington (ADW) benefits from this because the CDF transfers its earnings to the ADW each year.
